I currently hold the lap record of 1:17:04 around the fastest racing circuit (East London) in South Africa.

Career Highlights

Mackie made his debut in the Wesbank V8 Supercars when he was only 17. He is currently the lap record holder at the East London racing circuit. The East London circuit is the fastest track in the country where the cars reach speeds in excess of 300 km/h.

He started Karting in 1994, and by 1997 his team was recognized as one of the top teams in the formula. In 1999 he started in the Wesbank V8s and in 2001 he purchased Sarel van der Merwe's legendary Mustang.

In the 2003 season Mackie qualified in the top 5 at every race meeting and finished the season 4th overall in the championship.

In 2004 he broke the lap record at Phakisa in Welkom and recorded the fastest ever qualifying time at the East London race circuit.

In 2005 he lead the championship with consistent top finishes and ended the season 3rd overall. It was this year that he broke the East London record – and that record still belongs to him.

2006 started well for Mackie with a win and a championship lead. Unfortunately he was involved in a large accident in Cape Town, and two blown engines saw him drop down in the championship. He managed another win at Phakisa but a difficult season saw him finishing 5th
overall in the championship.

In 2007 I had two wins and came 5th in the Championship, before selling my Fuchs Mustang, but I'm back with my Jaguar 

My first race after a few years was the last race of the 2013 season at Kyalami. 2014 was a great race year with top competitors and I finished the season in 3rd place overall. 

I took my first Championship title at the end of 2017 and i'm still the reigning champ. Below are some photos of the previous car designs:
